Your Holiday location is a self-catering cottage in the small country village of Louisburgh, county Mayo. This village is located about 10 miles from nearby Westport, on the rugged Atlantic West coast of Ireland. It is about 1.5 hours from Knock Airport and 4 hours from Dublin. If you enjoy the Great outdoors, this is for you. Just a stones throw away are the famous Croagh Patrick, and the Conemarra Hills, as well as some of Europes best best beaches.

LANSCAPE- Louisbugh is the focal point of an area over 450 sq. miles in extent, stretching from Killary Ford in the south, to the Owenree River in the north. All of this landscape is designated as an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. 3 European Blue Flag Beaches are located in the Louisbugh area: Carramore (within walking distance of the cottage), Old Head, (1 mile from cottage), and Bertra, (5 miles from the cottage). Croagh Patrick is practically staring in your window, and daily up to 500 people climb all or part of it during the summer months.

PANORAMIC VIEWS- Open blanket bog drapes this majestic mountainous landscape fringed by the Atlantic coast and Clare Island, standing fortress-like to the West. Climbing Mweelrea (Connaught's highest mountain) on a summer's afternoon is to be presented with the panorama of the Twelve Bens to the South, the Sheffry Mountains to the East and Croagh Patrick to the North- one might be in Nepal or Tibet! Sea mist clings to the valley walls while Killary runs horizontally like a blue dagger through a vertical landscape.

NIGHTLIFE- Pubs: An enjoyable night is guaranteed if you visit any of the local pubs where you can get an appreciation of local culture.
